Ever have those arguments about which fictional character would win in a superfight?
Now you can do that, with cards!
Superfight is party game of super powers and super problems.
The game is all about arguing with your friends about ridiculous fights.
Superfight Summary
I haven’t played many ‘debate’ games. I’ve played voting games, but not many debate games.
I guess the closest is Big Bucket of Doom. In this, you put forward your card and why you think the effect on your card will get you out of the situation you’ve been placed in.
I’ve played quite a few games where you vote on things, but very few that require a debate. Usually, the ‘debate’ is down to bluffing and just trying to get people to do what you want. I haven’t played too many games where I need to convince people to ‘pick me’.
Although, But Wait, There’s More! is on my ‘to-play’ list. 🙂
As with any voting game, there are issues. There are people who will agree with each other. People who will vote for their friend, partner or person that are sucking up to 🙂
With a game as subjective as this, it can cause issues too. For example, in the above cards, the player picked ‘The Flash’ as their comic book character.
They went on to beat a lot of opponents including The Incredible Hulk on a Segway. A couple of people on the table would have voted for The Flash no matter what they went up against.
So, subjective.
The good this is the weird and wonderful combinations. I started with Terminator in a Wetsuit. A waterproof killing machine 🙂
One issue was I was a little older than everyone at the table so my references were… reduced?
For example, I had a card that said “Angel”. So I picked Angel from Buffy, more specifically, Angelus. Now in the ’90s and 00’s he was a badass. But today, they made Twilight references and dismissed him completely… sad times.
