Star Wars: Unlimited is a collectable card game.

Will join the light or dark side to join to destroy the opponent’s base.

A fast-paced, dynamic game that is both easy to learn and strategically deep. This game features iconic heroes, villains, ships, and settings from all facets of the legendary Star Wars franchise.

Star Wars: Unlimited Game Overview

Quick Rules Summary

At the start of a round, players draw 2 cards and may play 1 face down into their play area as a resource.

Players take turns taking one action, using resources to play cards, attack the opponent’s units and base with their own units or claim initiative for the next round.

Once per game, you can summon your main character into the fight.

How do you win?

Destroy the opponent’s base to win.

Main Mechanisms

This is a collectible card game so you will collect and build a deck before a game.

USP

I don’t think this is the first Star Wars CCG, especially if you include the dice game Destiny.

Theme

Star Wars obviously.

Setup

Once you’ve created your deck, you put your main guy and base on the table and shuffle the deck, job done.

Components & Artwork

The cards were sleeved and we used the premium tokens which can be bought separately so I have no idea what the base components are for this game.

I’m not too into the artwork.

Ease of Teaching

It is an easy-to-teach game but as with any CCG, as the cards are different you need to help newer players get used to a deck.

Similar Games

I’ve already mentioned one other Star Wars CCG but any other CCG would work. Magic the Gathering, Pokemon or Disney’s Lorcana for example.

Star Wars: Unlimited Review

Positives

Nice and simple gameplay.

The base decks that come in the starter set seem to be quite good.

Negatives

I’m not a fan of the attacker deciding what to attack, I prefer that the defender chooses how to block as in Magic the Gathering.

In this game I played I never felt like I had enough options, none of the cards in my deck drew more cards which didn’t help.

Summary

One for Star Wars fans and Star Wars fans only I would think.
