Outpost Siberia First Impressions
Can you cooperatively survive the harsh environment of Outpost Siberia?
Can you do it while being attacked by a tonne nasty creatures?
Welcome to Outpost 1, the first science observatory located in the isolated frozen tundra of Siberia! You and your team have been investigating anomalous activities the region, and recently things have shifted for the worse. The coming storm is said to be the “storm-of-the-century”; it may last a month or more. Strange howls and buzzing fill the long nights, and yesterday a crew-member went AWOL… or worse. The call for evacuation was made, but it came too late. The long winter storm has set in. There’s no hope of getting help until it clears. Now your crew’s only hope is to use what little resources you have to survive the long winter cold (and whatever’s out there in it). Use your rations wisely, and you may see the sun again.
Outpost Siberia Review
My first impressions of Outpost Siberia including a brief overview of gameplay followed by my final summary.
Final Thoughts
Hand management co-op games are tough to do, co-op games, in general, are tough to do. There are so many to choose from you need to be at least ‘very good’ to be in with a shout of getting played.
Outpost Siberia is fairly bland looks wise and is VERY difficult. Compare that to Samurai Spirit which looks AMAZING and is also very difficult. Personally, I’d rather play something real-time like FUSE or Flatline instead so that the Alpha player can’t get their nose into everybody’s moves.
I find it very difficult to say anything positive about this game at all. Maybe it’s a decent solo game? BGG says 2-5 players but with cards face up why is it not a solo game? Maybe cards aren’t supposed to be face up and the game owner was a bit Alpha? Hmmm…
Doesn’t change anything though.
