Nine Tiles Pokémon Dokoda Game Overview
Quick Rules Summary
Players have a matching set of nine tiles with Pokemon on each side.
A theme card is flipped over showing 9 Pokemon arranged in a 3×3 grid. Players will try and arrange their tiles to match the grid.
However, due to the way the tiles are printed, it might not work out for you at first. For example, in the below picture, Pikachu is in the bottom left. The Pokemon on the other side of the Pikachu tile might be needed in one of the other spaces so speedy trial and error is required.
How do you win?
The player that is fastest to match the theme card gets it. The first player to 9 theme cards wins.
Main Mechanisms
Speed! and pattern recognition.
USP
It’s a simple game rethemed with Pokemon which worked for me otherwise I would not have bought this.
Theme
Nothing really.
Setup & Rulebook
Setup is easy, and the rulebook is minimal but I was still really pleased to see an English side to the rulebook.
Components & Artwork
The tiles are actually nice quality. That smooth and silky feel to the cardboard that I really like.
The artwork is Pokemon artwork which is always good.

Ease of Teaching
It’s very easy to teach and even if someone doesn’t understand it, a round is so quick they won’t have to wait long.
Similar Games
I never played the original Nine Tiles but I used to own the more advanced Nine Tiles Panic which is good fun.
