Las Vegas Board Game First Impressions
I played a browser based version of Las Vegas.
Let’s roll the dice!
An easy, dice-rolling, fun and luck game with a lot of interaction and ‘schadenfreude'”. Who doesn’t love schadenfreude? (Well, other than those being schadened, I suppose…)

Las Vegas Game Play
There are 6 casinos tiles that you will lay out in order, each representing 1-6 on a D6.
You then lay out money cards next to each casino from a deck one at a time. When the value of the cards at a casino reaches $50,000 or more, you stop and move onto the next one. Once all the casinos have got their piles of cash the game starts.
On a player turn, they roll their remaining dice which starts at 8 D6s.
You choose one number and place ALL dice of that number at the relevant numbered casino. You must place all the dice of the chosen number.
This is all you do. On your turn you roll of your dice then place all of 1 number at the relevant casino.
Once all players have placed all of their dice you score.
The player with the most dice at a casino gets the highest value money card, second most the second highest etc
BUT! If players have the same number of dice at a casino they cancel each other out and are removed from scoring. So you can have the 3rd most dice at a casino and end up winning it.
After scoring, set up a new round. Play 4 rounds and the player with the most money is the winner.
Theme
It’s Las Vegas so you have to use dice right?
I mean, there’s no theme here really.
Setup
Roll dice and put out the casino card things, it couldn’t be easier.
You have to dish out those money cards and do a small amount of addition but that shouldn’t be a problem.
Components & Artwork
I played this digitally on Yucata but the physical game has basic components by the looks of it.
Ease of Teaching & Accessibility
This is a very accessible game and is designed to be. All open information and at most 6 choices on a turn.
You’re counting dice and not much more.
Las Vegas Summary
So, I won despite not winning any money in the last round so, cool?
I don’t like games where you don’t want to be the leader in the final round. Everyone made it their goal to stop me winning at any cost… All that meant was a couple of people made a lot of money in that final round.
Las Vegas as a game feels less Las Vegas-y than Lords of Vegas which is another Vegas-themed dice game. Here you’re building and controlling casinos rather than just controlling them for a bit.
But, this is a nice quick filler and OK for what it is. Not one I’ll be bothered to play too often.
