Incan Gold is a very odd ‘push your luck’ game.
Take the treasure, try not to die while trying to remember to play the right card
In Incan Gold, in each of the five rounds, you secretly choose if you want to continue exploring the temple.
Each time that an explorer braves new territory, more treasure or a danger appears. When a second card of the same type of danger is turned over, all exposed treasure is buried. This leaves the remaining adventurers with nothing. Do you flee the dangerous temple with your portion of the treasure? Or do you venture into the exciting temple in search of more hidden valuables?
After five rounds of exploration, whoever has the most treasure is the ultimate explorer and winner!
That pretty much sums it up and you do get a nice tent to put your stuff in.
Card Selection
So you draw a card to the middle of the table and divide the amount of treasure shown on it with the players still in the temple. If you stay in you can continue to get more treasure but risk losing everything you have so far this round if something bad happens
If you leave you take some of the treasure found so far back to your camp into your tent safely.
Reveal Card
There are dangers such as spiders and rock falls etc. If two of these same danger comes out, everyone still in the temple loses all the treasure they have so far this round. One copy of that danger is removed from the game so you need to remember which one it was for future rounds as that danger is now not so… erm… dangerous.
If you are the last person in you get to keep all the remaining treasures.
To decide if you want to continue or leave you to play either one of these cards.
They are so similar so remember to play the right one! 🙂 (Yeah, I messed up once…)
Incan Gold Update 19/05/2018
I played this a few times since…
While this is fun for a bit it’s nowhere near the top of my Push Your Luck style games. I would much rather play Archaeology: A New Expedition or one of many others.
Don’t let me put you off trying it because it is fun, it’s just not as much ‘game’ as others in this niche.
