Curse Words First Impressions

Curse Words is an adult-themed word game.

Can you build a word to answer your prompt?

A word-making & guessing party game for filthy people.

Curse Words Game Overview

Quick Rules Summary

Players are given a couple of question cards with prompts.

Then, Players then draft letter cards and build a word from those cards face down.

Players will take turns revealing one letter at a time and the other players will try and guess the word.

Curse Words Cards

How do you win?

You keep your used letter cards worth points, you also get a bonus if your word is voted the best/funniest. The player with the most points after a few rounds is the winner.

Keep in mind this was a demo of an early version at the UK Games Expo so it may change.

Main Mechanisms

Drafting for the letter cards and a bit of wordplay creating those words.

USP

There are a few word games, but I don’t know of any ‘word games’ with an adult theme. Those that have you making a word out of letter cards.

Theme

Nope! Although there is a skull on the box for some reason?

Setup

Shuffle and deal! I believe that is it.

Components & Artwork

I played with prototype components so not much to say there.

There isn’t much artwork either.

Ease of Teaching

Very simple. Like any good party game, you can teach while playing it.

Similar Games

Cards Against Humanity obviously but that’s not as creative. On the other side of the fence, Paperback is a word-building card game but lacks the potential for filth.

Curse Words Review

Positives

I like being creative in word games like this.

The prompt cards give you something to think about when drafting cards.

The demoers at UKGE were a lot of fun.

I enjoy these adult themes but…

Negatives

…the theme will obviously not be for everyone.

Summary

A very fun and naughty game.
