Game Description

Qwixx is a quick-playing dice game in which everyone participates, no matter whose turn it is.

Set-Up

I have the deluxe edition of this game so things will look slightly different from the regular versions. The deluxe edition is by no means required as the standard edition is perfectly fine. The only real difference is the deluxe version uses a dry wipe board and a marker… and the box lid is a felt-lined dice tray.

So to set up, give everyone a sheet of paper and a pen… That’s it!

Game Play

On your turn, roll all dice.

Qwixx Rolled Dice

EVERY player MAY cross off any one box of the total of the two white dice.

White Dice
Jesta chooses not to cross off a 7…

Then the Active player MUST cross off any box equal to the total of one coloured die and one white die.

IMPORTANT: You can never cross off a number to the left of a cross you have already placed so be careful!

Qwixx White and Coloured Die
Jesta will DEFINITELY cross off a Blue 12!

If, as the active player with the colour/white die you can’t (or don’t want to) cross off a number you cross off a forfeit box.

Forfeit Box Example

If you roll a 12 or 2 and have at least 6 numbers in that row you lock the colour, removing that die from the game.

Locked Row Example
Rolling a Blue 2 and having 6 numbers crossed off, Jesta locks the Blue line

Play passes clockwise.

Game End

The round ends immediately when 2 colours have been locked or one player gets 4 forfeits.

Add up the number of crosses in a row (including locks) and lose forfeit points and add up the total.

Most points win.

Qwixx Round-Up

Dice Bingo, right?

I win all my games of this and I have no idea why… It can’t be luck, we all have the same dice for the most part. It can’t be a skill because I’m not thinking about it, I’m just ticking what feels right…

So… that’s a bad thing right? Maybe…

But I still enjoy it and people I play it with do too.

Rating

I like it, just not sure why.

I give it 6/10

Dice Bingo?

DINGO!

Qwixx Score Card

Yes, I always use the name Butts Carlton for this game..

The choices you have to make are very simple yet just enough to feel bad. You have a Red 9 on your dice, you crossed off Red 7. Do you lose the Red 8 forever? What if you never see a Red 9 again? Do you have a Green 4 which is great for you, but is it better than the Red 9?

I’ve played this twice now (and I’m unbeaten!) and I’ll happily play it again.
