Main Mechanisms

So there is a lot here. There is roll and move for the map board and dexterity for the first phase.

But the mini-games use everything from stacking, throwing, hitting to elimination games.

USP

It’s inspired by Mario Party, a video game I love. That is what got me to back the game.

Theme

As much as I would like to see an official Nintendo Mario Party board game, Pirate Pandas are the way to go.

Setup & Rulebook

Setup is OK, it’s just getting things out the box. You may have to remove some party cards for the player count but most are 2-6.

The rulebook is very minimal but it only needs to be so it’s fine.

Components & Artwork

I have the deluxe Kickstarter version so the plastic and wooden bits not in the retail version are really nice.

The art is cute and fun.

Ease of Teaching

The base game is easy to teach, the 4 phases of play are rules light.

Then you have to teach each mini-game which are all rules light so you can do that when you get to it.

Party Panda Pirates Review

Positives

I have 29 mini-games and only 6 are used per game so there is some variety there.

The components are really nice.

It’s good fun with lots of laughs.

Negatives

Some of the mini game rules are open to interpretation so you sometimes have to use the video guide. The QR codes to look up the rules for the mini-games do not work on my home broadband. It says the site is a phishing scam.
