How to play Infinity Gauntlet: A Love Letter Game
This is a quick overview of how to play Infinity Gauntlet including the differences for 2 players and how all of the cards work.
Theme
Well, Infinity Gauntlet say it all.
It’s the many goodies vs the single but powerful baddies in a quest to stop the snap-pening.
Setup & Rulebook
Setup it shuffle and draw. I can imagine the hard bit is deciding who will be Thanos first.
The rulebook is pretty good, as are the reference cards which are really helpful.
Components & Artwork
The components are fine. I think I’d rather have cubes or more fancy bits than the health slider but I guess it cuts down on space in the bag.
The art has a nice aesthetic, I really like it.
Ease of Teaching & Accessibility
Love Letter has always been easy to teach. I always say “Draw a card, discard a card face up and we’ll activate it. If you’re not sure which to discard pick the one with the lowest number”. You can quick start that way and go from there.
This one is trickier. With no player elimination, the goal is harder to explain so you can’t just deal and go like that. But, once players know what they doing the game will go fine. You can explain the more complicated concepts as they appear, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Infinity Gauntlet: A Love Letter Game Summary
A little Marvel vs DC battle here as Love Letter: Batman is still my favourite. It’s staying to the classic Love Letter formula which works for me. Love Letter Premium adds the 5th and 6th player which slows it down a bit but is still good.
Here we keep that core gameplay but add another twist. Adding 1 vs many is a clever way to keep the game ticking over but have a different feel.
